Undergraduate Year 1
IELTS 5.5 (No less than a 5.0 in any one band)
Advanced Entry (direct entry to year 2,3 or 4)
Applicants may apply for entry to 1st-year courses at IT Tralee through the CAO. Students must hold qualifications equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. Qualifications are evaluated by the CAO.
Holders of Leaving Certificate must achieve a pass in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent examinations obtaining two H5 and four O6/H7 grades. Candidates are also required to obtain a minimum of O6/H7 in English or Gaeilge and Mathematics. Holders of equivalent qualifications to the Irish Leaving Certificate will be evaluated to determine equivalence.
Potential students of the programme should have a minimum of 2:2 honours degree in a related area. Applicants will also be required to submit a portfolio and present for the interview, displaying and discussing creative ability and technical strengths.
The Institute has two campuses in Tralee. Depending on your chosen course, you will be located in either the North Campus in Dromtacker or the South Campus in Clash. It is important for students to distinguish where their course will be delivered and look for accommodation that is accessible to that campus especially for those students who do not drive
Students should remember when choosing a place to stay that this will be your home for the next 30 weeks or so. It is better to choose wisely so that you do not have to go through the process of moving throughout the year as this can be costly financially, physically and mentally. Students can choose between digs, purpose-built student accommodation or private share houses with other students.
The International Office at IT Tralee provides information on accommodation and assists students in selecting accommodation.
Most accommodation in Tralee is within walking or cycling distance of the Institute. One can also avail of a shuttle bus service from the town centre to the Institute.
Concerning long-term accommodation, houses and apartments rented to students in Ireland are usually furnished.

IT Tralee may offer partial Scholarships to qualifying students in accordance with their strategic priorities and the academic and other credentials of the student. This is a limited programme and does not apply to all academic areas. Students will be notified as to their eligibility upon approval of their application to study in IT Tralee.
