Minimum Entry Requirements

Band 1  Programmes    Minimum average of 90% + in any of the recognised secondary school qualifications.

Band 2 Programmes    Minimum average of 80-89% in any of the recognised secondary school qualifications.

Band 3 Programmes    Minimum average of 75-79% in any of the recognised secondary school qualifications.

 Additional Requirements

 Where Maths is required for a specific degree programme, a minimum score of 85% in Maths is required.

Where a Lab Science subject is required for a specific degree programme, a minimum score of 85% is required in the appropriate Lab Science subject.

POSTGRADUATE

Indian applicants will normally be required to achieve a first class/first division mark in their undergraduate programme at a good institution of higher education in India. At the discretion of academic departments, students with degrees awarded by top universities such as the University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Calcutta, and the University of Pune, may be accepted with high second class/high second division marks. 

Note 2: Indian applicants with degrees awarded by any Indian Institute of Technology should contact the International Office regarding specific entry requirements. 

Note 3: In relation to three year degrees, the standard of the awarding institution will be considered in relation to admission to University College Cork. Please contact the International Office for further infomration. 

Student accommodation

UCC knows how important it is to find the right student housing. Campus Accommodation is university owned and managed apartment style living. Other Housing Options include purpose built student apartment complexes as well as rooms in a private house or apartment. The Residential Life Office focuses on providing a positive and supportive community in which to live, learn and thrive. 

UCC Campus

 Accommodation offers several different residencies near the main UCC campus. These residences are owned and managed by UCC, and are specifically designed for student life, and offer security as well as reception service.

UCC Accommodation Service reserves accommodation in a range of self-contained student apartments. Apartments are available on a fixed term basis. The contract is for the one semester or full academic year depending on the term of study.

Accommodation is available at Castlewhite Apartments, Victoria Lodge, and University Hall; including Áras Uí Thuma, the Irish Language Residential Centre. Both University Hall and Victoria Lodge have designated blocks for postgraduate students.

All UCC Campus Accommodation is situated close to the majority of University buildings, the Student Centre and UCC Sports facilities; whilst being a pleasant stroll to the vibrant city centre.

The University is situated in a pleasant residential area where there is a wide variety of other housing options to suit individuals or groups. Rents vary according to size, location, distance from the University, and facilities.
